Just like other safari zones in Jim Corbett, to enter into the Jhirna forest reserve, you need to obtain permit from the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Jhirna zone is quite significant to spot wildlife easily. Jhirna Safari zone is located at the Southern edge of Jim Corbett and is at a distance of about 16 km from Ramnagar. Jhirna zone is one of the best zones of Corbett where you can find the mesmerizing spots in the CTR. The topography of the Jhirna comprises of deciduous secondary forest scattered with open grasslands offering great visibility of animals. There is a time span in the monsoon from July to September when the advance booking for safari rides into the Jhirna zone is not allowed since the safaris might be cancelled any day if there is heavy rainfall or expectations of the bad weather. Therefore it is better to avoid visiting the forest during monsoon.

Jhirna zone previously was a village in Jim Corbett that was transferred later in 1994 under the Project Tiger to some other area and now it is a deep dense forest. Laldhang Chaur is one of the major attractions of the region where you can find multiple river streams flowing through the area. You can enjoy safari ride in the region while sighting amazing flora and fauna species of the jungle.
